The problem of Magnetic loop is:

 

100 A current -> every mOhm of resistance will destroy a lot of enjoyment
jedes mOhm Widerstand zerstrt eine Menge Spa.

 

5000 V voltage -> the capacitor needs high interspaces and also: No mOhms

der Kondensator braucht viel Plattenabstand und auch: Keine mOhm

 

Vacuum capacitors are very expensive and not all of them can take 100 A current

Vakuum Kondensatoren sind sehr teuer und nicht jeder vertrgt 100 A

 

My solution:

 

Loop 1.8 m diameter, 18 mm Copper -pipe, for warm-water installation from home improvement store
Loop 1,8 m Durchmesser, 18 mm Warmwasser Kupferrohr vom Baumarkt

Capacitor = Two anodized aluminium heat-sinks 180 x 100 x 50 mm -> together 5 mm interspaces
Kondensator = zwei eloxierte Alu Khlkrper ergibt zusammen 5 mm Plattenabstand

works from 5 to 14 MHz

 

Capacitor (heat-sinks) at 7 MHz SWR 1.0

 

Capacitor (heat-sinks) at 10 MHz SWR 1.1

 

Capacitor (heat-sinks) at 14 MHz SWR 1.4 ( I need to change the feeding )

for comparably reports like my dipole

 

RX

I lost 2 - 4 S-Meter units


but

My RX works fine up from 0.1 uV

 

the SNR is much better as the same loud signal from my dipole!

 

QRM is very low

I think it has no beaming direction

 

My dipole is mounted north to south

I cant work stations in the north or south

-> Clearly!

 

My loop is horizontal west - east

I worked stations in all directions well
